Atlanta, GA - On February 20, 2026, at approximately 5:21 PM, Zone 4 officers conducted a traffic stop at 2942 Delmar Ln. SW. The driver was observed not wearing a seatbelt, and further investigation revealed that the vehicle did not have valid insurance.

While speaking with the driver, officers detected the odor of marijuana. When they attempted to detain him, he aggressively resisted.

During the altercation, a male officer sustained a significant leg injury, later determined to be a fractured fibula and tibia.

A foot chase ensued, and shortly thereafter, a community member assisted a female officer in locating the suspect.

The officer and the community member were able to speak with the suspect, who was on the other side of a tall fence, and talked him into surrendering to police.

He was taken into custody without further incident. A search of the vehicle was conducted where officers located 6.7 grams of suspected marijuana.

The suspect was identified as 18-year-old Cameron Carter. He was charged with Seat belt Violation, No Insurance, Possession of Marijuana, Obstruction, Aggravated Battery Against a Law Enforcement Officer, and Simple Assault Against a Law Enforcement Officer.

He was transported to the Fulton County Jail and taken into their custody without incident.
