Columbus police released bodycam footage of a use-of-force incident after a 911 call

Columbus, OH - Newly released body-camera video is providing new details in a controversial Columbus police encounter in the Linden neighborhood that is already under investigation by the city’s inspector general.
The incident first drew widespread attention after a cellphone video circulated online showing officers with guns drawn during a confrontation on Cleveland Avenue.
Police said officers were called to the area Tuesday night on a report that someone was trying to kick down a door and threatening to open fire. The preliminary investigation report, released through a public records request, states a witness, who is friends with the victim, told police she saw two women on Facebook Live attempting to kick down the door.
Body-worn camera video shows that an officer approached an SUV and repeatedly ordered the occupants to keep their hands up, show their hands through the window, and get out of the vehicle.
The video shows a woman stepping out of the SUV and saying she did not have a weapon before an officer grabbed her arms and took her to the ground. "I ain't got no weapon," and "why are you doing this?" she can be heard saying.
Police said two people were detained, but court records do not show any charges as of Friday.
