‘Wrong-way driver’ goes over median before arrest in Westchase for DUI

Westchase, FL - A Florida woman was arrested for driving under the influence on Sunday after she drove the wrong way down a Westchase road, according to body camera footage.
A deputy observed the woman, Kami Ellis, 52, driving the wrong way on Sheldon Road near West Linebaugh Avenue at 12:20 a.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.
Dash camera footage showed Ellis driving her car over a median to pull over on the opposite side of the road as the police vehicle approached.
According to body camera footage, Ellis did not know how to turn the car off. She also could not find her driver’s license, showing a deputy her credit card and a Barnes & Noble gift card.
Deputies performed roadside tests before Ellis was arrested and charged with DUI.
