Laurel man caught hiding under porch arrested on sex trafficking charges

Laurel, MD - A man faces sex trafficking charges after he was arrested while trying to escape from his home through a crawl space as officers executed a search warrant, according to the Laurel Police Department.
Robert Eakins, 31, was arrested at his home on April 1.
Police said officers from Laurel and Greenbelt executed a search warrant on his home after receiving tips that Eakins was pressuring a woman into sex work, according to investigators.
Officers said they were able to quickly locate the victim inside the home and get her to safety.
Eakins was found trying to use a crawl space under his porch to get away, according to police.
He faces sex-trafficking charges as well as an outstanding armed robbery charge.
The victim was reunited with her family.
