Man arrested after OKC pursuit; police find 136 pre-rolled joints, wax and vapes

Oklahoma City, OK - On Saturday morning, Sept. 5, an Oklahoma City police officer engaged in a traffic pursuit after an individual was found asleep at the wheel at a traffic light.
According to OKCPD, a black Lincoln was observed near I-240 SVC Road and S. May stopped at a traffic light with other vehicles moving around it.
The police officer approached the vehicle and saw Jose Mares asleep in the driver seat. The officer tapped on the window and then proceeded to shake the vehicle in order to wake Mares up.
Once Mares saw the police officer, he took off in his vehicle. The police officer pursued Mares down I-240 SVC Road until Mares stopped at a traffic light at I-240 and S. Pennsylvania.
A window breaker was used to get Mares out of the vehicle and he was taken into custody. According to the arresting officer, Mares had a strong order of marijuana and alcohol and was described as lethargic.
Mares told police he had been coming from a bar on 10th Street.
In Mares' vehicle, police located two Ziplock bags that contained approximately 136 pre-rolled marijuana joints, marijuana wax, marijuana vapes, and a syringe that had a concentrated liquid that is suspected to be THC.
After receiving an approved blood draw warrant, Mares' blood was drawn at a nearby medical center.
Mares was taken into custody and charged with aggravated DUI, eluding, and the intent to distribute.
