Lakewood, WA - A man is in custody after a wild pursuit with Pierce County deputies ended in Lakewood.
Early Monday morning, deputies spotted a driver speeding in a pickup truck. Dash cam footage shows him driving past deputies before investigators tried to pull him over and began a pursuit.
The footage eventually shows the driver taking a turn too quickly, smashing through a guardrail and crashing near the corner of 40th Ave SW and 96th St SW.
He then got out of the car and ran, with deputies following close behind.
"I'm faster than you!" one deputy is heard shouting at the driver.
The footage then shows the man lunging at a deputy before they both hit the ground.
Investigators said they put the man in cuffs, went through his crashed truck and found empty beer cans, a shotgun with a drum magazine and several other guns.
The driver was arrested for felony eluding, reckless driving, DUI, resisting arrest and third-degree assault.
