Cleveland, OH - Cleveland police released body-worn camera video Thursday showing Fourth District officers helping a family escape a burning home.

According to the Cleveland Division of Police, officers were fueling their patrol car when they noticed flames coming from the house.

The video shows officers spotting a fire at a double residential house in the 9400 block of Parkview Avenue on Jan. 9, at around 8:10 a.m.

"We are grateful for all our officers and our Public Safety family who day in & out serve our community," wrote the Cleveland Division of Police in a Facebook post on Thursday.

Police say in the video that the bottom unit of the house was fully engulfed in flames.

The bodycam video shows officers entering the home to alert residents about the fire and guide them to safety. Four people were inside and all were escorted out of the house.

Because of concerns about possible live wires near the home, officers also helped the family safely get out of a fenced backyard area.

“Officers safely removed all parties from the home and backyard,” the Cleveland Division of Police said. “Everyone was medically evaluated by Cleveland EMS.”

Cleveland EMS checked the residents for possible smoke inhalation. No serious injuries were reported.

Police said all individuals were safe, and family pets were reunited with their owners.
