Trumbull County officer drags driver out of burning car

Trumbull County, OH - The harrowing moments of flames erupting from an overturned car with a driver trapped inside was caught on camera by the officer who rushed into danger to pull him to safety.
The Trumbull County 9-1-1 Center got a call for a fire in the area of OH-5 and Bradley Brownlee Road in the Bazetta and Mecca Township area at approximately 11:11 p.m. on Saturday.
The Cortland Police Department officers John Mosora and Chuck Lohry were first on scene.
They arrived to find a car crashed through a fence, flipped on its side, and then caught fire, according to CPD.
CPD said Ofc. Mosora saw the driver was trapped in the car, and immediately broke out the sunroof to get inside.
“You got to help me help you out!” one officer directed.
“I can’t move, I’m trying!” the driver exclaimed.
The driver suffered significant injuries, which led to Ofc. Mosora ultimately needing to drag him from the car to safety, stated CPD.
Ofc. Lohry knocked down the flames with a fire extinguisher while Ofc. Mosora saved the driver, according to CPD.
CPD confirmed Ofc. Mosora suffered minor injuries during the rescue mission.
The driver told the officer his leg was broken.
Multiple fire departments arrived on scene soon after and fully extinguished the flames while paramedics treated the driver, said CPD.
There was no one else in the car at the time of the crash.
