Howard County police officers rescue a frightened dog from a smoke-filled house
-----
Howard County, MD - When a fire ignites in a home, experts emphasize that everyone must immediately evacuate, including the pets.
A recent house fire in Howard County forced two residents to evacuate, but their beloved dog was still in the home. Two Howard County police officers were first on the scene and heard the dog owners' pleas to rescue their fur baby while they safely stood in the front yard.
Officers Amaro and Aghamalian didn't break stride, but swiftly rushed inside and called for the dog. They didn't know what type of fire awaited them behind the front door, nor how severe the fire was, but they tracked the frightened dog into the garage, where a brief chase ensued. After snatching up the pup, they hustled back outside - dog in tow - and handed it over to the grateful owners.
