Deer leaps at Sandy Springs police officer in dark woods while he was searching for suspects

Sandy Springs, GA - A police officer searching a wooded area in Sandy Springs, Georgia, got quite the shock when a deer suddenly bounded towards him before crashing into nearby bushes.

Bodycam footage released by the Sandy Springs Police Department shows the officer sweeping his flashlight through the trees during the search for two suspects before being startled by the sudden movement of the deer. “Holy sugar, dude!” the officer says as the deer scampers away.

Police said officers were responding to reports of two men trying car door handles in the area.
