Savannah Police Wrangle Wandering Alligator From Neighborhood
A wandering alligator rode in the back seat of a police cruiser near Savannah, Georgia, on Thursday, May 23, after officers were alerted to its unwelcome visit to a local neighborhood.
Footage released by Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) shows officers restrain and remove the animal from a resident’s driveway in Georgetown on Thursday evening.
After securely taping shut the alligator’s mouth, the animal was placed in the back of a cruiser. It was released back into the wild shortly after, CCPD said.
