He has been in jail since May on charges in the death of Hamilton County Deputy Larry Henderson.
Newly released video shows the moment Hinton allegedly hit the officer while he was being taken back to his cell from recreation time.
Video released shows an officer handing Hinton a towel as he gets ready to escort Hinton to his cell when the two exchange comments and officials say Hinton threatened the officer.
"You want it?" the officer says, appearing to hand Hinton a towel.
"Do you want it?" Hinton replies.
"What?" the officer replies.
"Do you want it?" Hinton says.
That's when the officer appears to grab Hinton by the arm, telling him to walk as he takes him to his cell.
"Get off me," Hinton replies.
"Sit down," the officer tells him once they reach his cell.
"Shut up, (expletive)," Hinton responds before allegedly hitting the officer.
Other officers then step in to restrain Hinton as video shows appears to show him proceeding to strike the officer.
Court documents state Hinton hit and kicked the deputy several times during the incident.
Officers can be heard in the video telling Hinton to "get on the ground" and "show us your hands."
Hinton is then shown in the video being placed in handcuffs and then restrained into a chair with a spit mask.
"Lord help me," Hinton could be heard saying in the video.
"Help you, you just punched an officer in the face," an officer said in the video.
"I know, I'm sorry," Hinton said in the video repeatedly before being wheeled into another cell. "Please forgive me, I'm suffering."
