The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office has released a video from a car chase that ended with officers performing life-saving aid.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office reports that a deputy was on patrol on Pickney Rd. near Coon Lake in Marion Township when he saw a black 2024 Chevy Impala on Sunday, Jan. 12 at approximately 12:52 p.m.

The Impala driver, a 39-year-old man from Hamburg Township, was wanted for felony warrants.

The deputy waited for a backup unit and attempted to pull the car over. The driver ran, resulting in a chase. A deputy used a P.I.T. maneuver to stop the car, sending it into a tree and landing in a ditch.

Deputies approached the car and found the man with self-inflicted knife wounds to his neck. They removed the driver from the car and began performing life-saving measures.

Livingston County EMS took the driver to U of M Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.
