Suspect surrenders after hitting a spike strip during police chase in Fond du Lac County

Fond du Lac County, WI - The Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office says just after 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, it was notified that the Brown County Sheriff’s Office was looking for a car that fled a traffic stop and struck a deputy’s car.
A Rosendale police officer spotted the suspects’ car going south on State Highway 26 and followed it until a Fond du Lac County deputy attempted a stop. After initially pulling over, the car then sped away.
Deputies laid down a tire deflation device after a 4-mile chase, and the fleeing vehicle came to a stop on the shoulder of Highway 151. The driver and passenger got out of the car and followed comments to lay down on the ground.
Nobody was hurt during the pursuit, and no cars were damaged.
The driver, a 44-year-old Madison man, was taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail on expected charges of Felony Fleeing/Eluding, 1st Degree Reckless Endangering Safety, and Possession of THC (Repeater) charges.
He was also cited for Operating while Revoked, Transporting Open Intoxicants, Excessive Speeding in a 55 MPH Zone (45+ MPH), and a Driver’s License Restriction Violation.
The passenger, a 34-year-old Madison woman, was arrested on suspicion of Resisting/Obstructing and Possession of THC.
