Dash cam footage shows San Pablo officers chasing a stolen vehicle

San Pedro, CA - What started as a routine patrol in San Pablo turned into a high-speed night at the movies, with the cameras rolling the entire way.
Dashcam footage released by the San Pablo Police Department shows officers spotting a stolen vehicle, tucking in behind it through San Pablo streets, then pursuing it across city lines into Martinez. The chase ends only after officers deploy spike strips and execute a PIT, or Pursuit Intervention Technique, to spin the fleeing car into a controlled stop.
Two people are taken into custody at the scene, and officers recover a loaded firearm along with a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine, according to officials. The California Highway Patrol assists in the pursuit, and no injuries are reported.
The San Pablo Police Department says officers first located the stolen car while on patrol, then followed it as the pursuit crossed into Martinez. The post states that the two people arrested are convicted felons, that a loaded firearm was recovered, and that investigators seized a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine.
The dashcam video shows officers laying out tire-deflation devices as the stolen vehicle speeds past, then later using a PIT maneuver to nudge the car into a spin and bring it to a controlled stop in Martinez, again with no reported injuries.
