Thurston County, WA - On May 5th at approximately 0125 hours, one of our deputies attempted to stop a vehicle after learning the driver had a suspended license and an active warrant for hit-and-run.

The driver fled and deputies pursued the vehicle. A PIT maneuver sent the driver down an embankment, however he recovered and continued fleeing. A deputy then successfully deployed a Grappler. The tether broke, but locked up the rear tire. The deputies eventually pinned the car in and the driver surrendered.

A passenger was discovered in the vehicle. The suspect was booked for attempting to elude, driving on a suspended license, reckless endangerment domestic violence, unlawful imprisonment domestic violence, and his active warrant. Bail was set at $35,000.

Great work by deputies to get this individual into custody. Fleeing law enforcement only makes whatever you have going on that much worse. Do the right thing: pull over, do your night in jail (or bail out), and don’t put your passengers and fellow community members at risk.
