Dashcam shows suspects appearing to escape capture by driving on a soccer field full of kids

Bethlehem, NY - A high-speed chase through Bethlehem ended dramatically on Tuesday evening, according to police. They say three people were arrested after the driver went through soccer fields at Elm Ave Park, where games were being played at the time.

Bethlehem Police were called out to the Walmart on Route 9W in Glenmont on reports of a larceny in progress. Officers say a blue Ford Escape took off from the scene at high speed, evading an attempted traffic stop.

The chase continued onto Feura Bush Road before police say the SUV veered down an embankment and onto the ACTIVE soccer fields. All three people were arrested after police say they jumped out of the car and ran into nearby woods.

April A. Mahoney, 49, of Troy, was identified as the driver and faces multiple charges:

* First-degree Reckless Endangerment (D Felony),
* Third-degree Criminal Mischief (E Felony),
* Third-degree Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle(A Misdemeanor),
* Resisting Arrest (A Misdemeanor),
* Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd (A Misdemeanor),
* Reckless Endangerment 2nd (A Misdemeanor),
* Petit Larceny (A Misdemeanor),
* Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd (U Misdemeanor),
* Reckless Driving (U Misdemeanor),
* Conspiracy 6th (B Misdemeanor),
* and numerous other Vehicle and Traffic Law charges.

Roger K. Chapman, 36, of Albany, was charged with:

* Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th (D Felony) – possessed Ecstasy,
* Resisting Arrest (A Misdemeanor),
* Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd (A Misdemeanor),
and Conspiracy 6th (B Misdemeanor).

Jessica L. Perry, 41, also of Albany, faces charges including:

* Resisting Arrest (A Misdemeanor),
* Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd (A Misdemeanor),
* and Conspiracy 6th (B Misdemeanor).

All three were arraigned in the Town of Bethlehem Court. Mahoney and Chapman were remanded to the Albany County Jail, while Perry was released under probation supervision.
