Man hiding in a trash can runs on foot before being dumped in the dumpster

Huber Heights, OH - Police in Huber Heights, Ohio, arrested a man who allegedly fled a traffic stop and took refuge in a trash can on Monday, February 23.

A Huber Heights Police Department officer was conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle when the driver fled on foot. The officer “briefly lost sight” of the man and “quickly established a perimeter” in the area, police said.

Dash cam footage released by police shows a garbage collector roll a trash can towards a truck. The worker opens the can and jumps back before pointing the police officer towards the trash.

The motorist then jumps out and flees the scene as a police officer gives chase. Police said the suspect was taken into custody “without injury to anyone involved.”
