Dashcam video shows high speed chase ending in crash
Colchester, CT - State police have released dash cam footage of a Thursday police pursuit on Route 2 in Colchester.
24-year-old Marcus Douton was allegedly driving over 120 miles per hour while under the influence. In the video, Douton is seen driving around a state police cruiser on the shoulder of the highway and then speeding through a construction zone.
His vehicle exited the highway at Exit 8 in Glastonbury before colliding with another vehicle.
Police said that a search of his car revealed numerous narcotics, and he failed a standard field sobriety test. Douton was also wanted by state police for a failure to appear warrant.
Douton was charged with the following:
* Operating an unregistered vehicle
* Operating with a fraudulent registration plate
* Operating a motor vehicle without minimum insurance
* Operating under suspension
* Reckless driving
* Engaging police in pursuit
* Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs
* Possession of narcotic paraphernalia
* Criminal impersonation
* Second-degree forgery
* Interfering with an officer
* Five counts of first-degree reckless endangerment
