Adams police officer shoots at suspect who made a fake 911 stabbing call

Adams, MA - The incident occurred at a home near Commercial Street in Adams. Investigators said Phillip White called Adams police claiming his friend had been stabbed.

Police say White fabricated the story. The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office said when Corporal Baker ordered White to show his hands, White did not comply and approached the officer with a weapon.

Baker then drew his weapon and fired one round. White was not struck, and officers took him into custody without further issues.

White has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. The District Attorney’s Office has ruled the officer was justified in firing his weapon.
