Russian President Vladimir Putin invited one of the veterans who was stopped by the Russian leader’s personal guards to join him and lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Red Square on Wednesday.

The veteran tried to come up to Putin at the end of the Victory Day parade, but the Russian leader's guards stopped the war hero.
The scene attracted the attention of Putin, and he promptly stopped to talk with the man.

Later both the president and the veteran took part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
