Greenville, SC - The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is praising two deputies after a young child stopped breathing following a pool incident.

According to the sheriff’s office and body camera video, Deputy Jordan Stevenson and Deputy Connor O’Shields were called to a home around 6 p.m. May 31 for a report of a little girl who had fallen into a swimming pool and stopped breathing.

When they arrived, deputies immediately began CPR and continued until other first responders reached the scene.

“Those critical moments that followed could have ended in unimaginable heartbreak,” the sheriff’s office said. “Instead, because of the swift actions, training and determination of Deputy Jordan Stevenson and Deputy Connor O’Shields, a little girl was given a chance to keep living her story.”
