Motorcycle chase from Grand Blanc Township ends with crash, arrest

Grand Blanc Township, MI - A police chase that started in Grand Blanc Township on Saturday ended with a crash about 10 miles away and officers arrested a man with multiple felony warrants.
An officer from the Grand Blanc Township Police Department attempted to pull over 33-year-old James Higgins of Flint for riding a motorcycle without a valid registration plate in the area of Hill and Porter roads around 8 p.m.
Higgins allegedly sped off and headed west into rural areas of Genesee County. The chase ended after 12 minutes, when the motorcycle crashed on Morrish Road, a short distance south of Baldwin Road in Gaines Township.
Grand Blanc Township police say Higgins had arrest warrants out of Ohio for drug trafficking charges and out of Michigan for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
Higgins is facing charges of third-degree fleeing and eluding police and driving on a suspended, revoked or denied license related to the Grand Blanc Township chase.
