Davenport, IA - The Davenport Police Department has released dashcam video of a squad car crash from April.
Just before 9 p.m. on April 24, Davenport police officers were responding to a residence in the 1500 block of West 3rd Street for a disturbance involving a burglary, officials said.
Two squad cars collided at the intersection of 3rd Street and Marquette Street, according to officials.
Officials said both officers had emergency lights and sirens activated in the vehicles
Each squad car was occupied by one officer and no injuries were reported, officials said.
The dashcam videos are from both squad cars involved in the crash. They show the moment the cars collided at the intersection.
“Our officers undergo annual driver training so they’re ready to perform in high‑pressure situations,” said Davenport Police Interim Chief Greg Behning. “We are thankful that there were no serious injuries as a result of this crash. We are reminded of the dangerous nature of emergency response while in service to our community. This lesson is especially impactful as National Police Week comes to an end.”
The crash was investigated by Iowa State Patrol.
