what was once the preserve of western factories like GEC, AEI and MEM is no more...it's more likely to be in so-called third-world-countries...dirt floor establishments that now get the work... many transformers are repaired and sent back to first world nations for it's cheaper do this than to pay western salaries which, of course, the greedy owners don't want to pay any more than they have to.

As for skills...there's not many British kids of today who can spell 'transformers' let alone make one of 'em.. and we all know what sort of 'transformers' some western nations know want and produce...
