Sarasota Police officers rescue two adults from a burning home

Sarasota, FL - Two adults were rescued from a burning home by police officers.
Sarasota Police Department responded to a report of a fire in the 2200 block of North Osprey Avenue just after 10 p.m. Feb. 20. When officers arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames.
Energized power lines began falling and transformers malfunctioned, creating additional hazards around the property, police said.
Officers pulled a man and a woman from inside the home. Both sustained minor injuries.
Firefighters with the Sarasota County Fire Department later extinguished the blaze after the scene was secured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
