Bodycam video shows explosion after vehicle becomes entangled in downed wires

Coventry, RI - Coventry police bodycam video showed an explosion after a vehicle drove into downed live wires.
According to police, a two-vehicle crash on Nooseneck Hill Road caused a utility pole to snap, causing it to collapse onto a Rhode Island Public Transit Authority bus.
Live downed wires were on the roadway.
A vehicle then entered the crash scene and became entangled in the wires, causing an explosion.
The bodycam video shows officers telling the driver to stop moving after the explosion.

According to fire officials, two firefighters were injured.
Police said Nooseneck Hill Road remained closed between Magnolia Drive and Wisteria Drive until the utility pole was replaced.
The incident remains under investigation.
