Norwalk Police Rescue Kayaker In Distress From Long Island Sound

Norwalk, CT - Norwalk officers rescued a kayaker in distress found floating in Long Island Sound over the weekend, according to the Norwalk Police Department.
Police said Marine Unit officers received a report Saturday around 4 p.m. of a kayaker in distress between Chimon and Cockenoe islands.
According to police, officers Owen Lee and Chris Kassimis spotted the kayaker signaling for help by waving a paddle overhead.
The kayaker, who was not wearing a life jacket, was staying afloat by clinging to two flotation devices and a life jacket, according to police.
Lee and Kassimis quickly brought the kayaker safely aboard the police vessel, police said.
