Atlanta Police release dramatic body cam video of fiery Fourth of July crash rescue

Atlanta, GA - Newly released body camera video from Atlanta Police shows officers springing into action to rescue two people trapped inside a burning car after a crash on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway.
It happened early on the morning of July 4. According to police, officers witnessed the car being driven recklessly and attempted a traffic stop. But the driver sped off. Police say they did not pursue the vehicle.
Just minutes later, the car slammed into a vacant gas station and caught fire.
In the dramatic footage, officers can be heard urgently trying to free the driver and passenger.
“Over here, over here!” one officer yells. “You’re going to have to pull him out bro. Is there a seatbelt?” another says, while struggling to open the door.
Both the driver and passenger survived and were rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Police have identified the driver as 24-year-old Ja’Corey Bryant. He’s now facing a long list of charges, including reckless driving.
