Fauquier County, VA - A newly released video shows an off-duty Prince William County police officer helping rescue two people trapped inside an overturned vehicle after a crash in Fauquier County earlier this year.
According to police, the crash occurred in February, but footage of the rescue was released this week.
Authorities said bystanders flagged down a Prince William County police officer who was off duty and driving home through Fauquier County when he came upon the scene.
Video of the incident shows the vehicle overturned with both the driver and a passenger trapped inside.
Police said the officer used his baton to break a window of the overturned vehicle. With assistance from bystanders, he helped remove both occupants from the wreckage.
Both victims survived the crash, according to police.
