Clinton, MO - A Clinton police officer was injured Sunday morning after a suspect rammed into him with a vehicle and led officers on a pursuit that ended in Truman Lake.

According to the Clinton Police Department, officers were called to a gas station after a woman reported she had been assaulted and was being held against her will.

When officers approached a suspect in the parking lot, police said the man refused to comply, put the vehicle in reverse, and struck an officer, throwing him onto a police cruiser.

A chase ensued, ending when the suspect crashed into Truman Lake and tried to flee on foot.

Officers detained him shortly afterward.
