Reckless motorcycle rider caught after 130 mph Fourth of July run
-----
Orange County, CA - A motorcycle rider who sped past a California Highway Patrol commander at well over 100 mph on the Fourth of July likely thought no one could keep up. However, officers in Orange County have more than one way to catch a reckless driver.
“With the help of our CHP Air Unit, Air-51 tracked the motorcyclist until a unit got into position and made an arrest,” the CHP said in a Facebook post.
Video released by the CHP showed the rider weaving rapidly through freeway traffic, making other vehicles appear nearly stationary.
The unidentified rider was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, and the motorcycle was impounded for 30 days.
