Florida man with suspended license caught after foot chase
-----
Volusia County, FL - A second time proved to be the charm for this Florida man, recently caught driving without a license — again — despite his history of habitual suspensions.
When Volusia County deputies finally caught him, he told them he had stopped running because he had become tired.
On Tuesday, a deputy from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VSO) was on patrol when he saw a silver Kia being driven by Juan Garcia Valcourt. Deputies say Valcourt was recently arrested on September 18 on a warrant for driving without a license.
Body camera video shows a deputy chasing Valcourt through a residential neighborhood with his gun drawn. The deputy is seen hopping fences as he shouts at the suspect, telling him to stop, or he's going to get bitten by the dogs.
Aerial video shows the man in a backyard shirtless. He's seen throwing the shirt on the grass before he dramatically falls to the ground and sprawls out.
"Roll over, man, quit being f***** dramatic," the deputy can be heard saying.
The man is then seen laughing and telling the deputy, "You came out fresh; there was no way I was running from you."
Valcourt was taken to the Volusia County Jail, where he was booked on counts of driving while his license was suspended as a habitual offender, fleeing and eluding and resisting an officer without violence.
