Narcotic-smelling horse scares suspect, leading officers on a brief foot chase before arrest
By: Lubbock, TX - A suspect tried to make a great escape while being questioned by police on horseback when one of the officers made a joke about having a "narcotic-smelling horse."
The context of the video was not made clear in the Facebook post, but it opens with three officers on horseback questioning two suspects on the side of the road.
"Would you mind if this officer behind you checks your pockets and makes sure you don’t have any narcotics or anything like that?" one of the officers asked.
The suspect said no, prompting the recording officer to make a joke.
"That's cool, I have a narcotic-smelling horse right here," he said as his horse took a step forward.
Immediately, one of the two men being questioned turned down a side street and started sprinting away, but was quickly apprehended by two of the horseback officers.
