Man involved in drug deal arrested by Jacksonville police after horse chase

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office shared body camera video of JSO horses chasing down a man involved in a drug deal.

According to the social media post, 25-year-old Jordan Wilson was caught trying to hand off drugs.

Wilson tried to run away from the JSO Mounted Unit. The officers and their horses chased the suspect for a quarter mile.

The video shows Officer Cassie Haire and Police Service Horse Nash following Wilson into oncoming traffic.

“Come on. Get him, Nash. Get the bad man,” Haire tells Nash.

Near the end of the chase, the video shows Officer Zackary Maryland and Police Service Horse Jaxx closing in on Wilson.

“Hupp Jaxx, hupp. Run him over, Jaxx!” Maryland can be heard saying in the video.

Wilson was caught and arrested.
