Suspect crashes stolen Dayton cruiser into home in chase, multiple officers hurt

Dayton, OH - Shocking police dashcam video shows a suspect stealing a police cruiser after a chase and later crashing it directly into a home in Dayton, Ohio.
Dayton Police & Fire shared the video on Friday, saying the chase and crash happened late Thursday night.
Police said the suspect was initially in a pursuit with multiple Dayton Police Department cruisers before jumping out and running into a backyard.
After officers had lost sight of the suspect, he circled back to where the chase ended and stole a Dayton police cruiser.
The dash camera footage shows the suspect speeding through a residential neighborhood before slamming into a home on Greenway Street.
Police responded quickly and took the suspect into custody.
Investigators said seven officers were injured during the incident, with six of them being treated at a hospital and released.
Two people who were inside the home suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was also taken to a hospital for treatment after being arrested.
Police said the suspect, who wasn’t identified, was also suspected of other crimes, including a homicide in Miami Township.
