A man wearing makeshift body armor who pointed a gun at Ogden officers is fatally shot
By: On Nov. 5, shortly before 1:20 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at a house on the 200 North Block of Eccles Avenue. A man was reportedly intoxicated at the home and armed with a firearm.
The man had reportedly said that he would “handle it himself and take himself out” if officers came to the home.
Upon arriving at the scene, seven officers were confronted by a man with a handgun, a release states. The man allegedly pointed the gun at officers repeatedly and ignored multiple commands to drop the weapon.
“The officers fired their weapons, and the suspect was struck and killed,” the release states.
Police said officers have responded to calls of this nature at this house before, where the same man has threatened to use firearms against himself and officers.
