Wanted man arrested after car chase, PIT maneuver, crashing head on into cruiser

Crisp County, GA - Deputies arrested a wanted man after a car chase ended with a PIT maneuver on Saturday night, according to a press release from the Crisp County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said the Georgia State Patrol attempted to stop Nickalus Mainor, 44, around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday. He refused to yield and began the car chase.
The chase led through the city of Cordele, where Crisp County deputies responded to help. The chase went through several city streets, according to the sheriff's office, when the GSP vehicle attempted a PIT maneuver on Mainor's car. Mainor then drove his vehicle at a Crisp deputy's vehicle, ramming into it.
Mainor, a Byron resident, got out of his car after the crash and started running away. Officers tased and arrested him.
Mainor had active warrants and was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service, according to the press release. He now faces additional charges of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, two counts of obstruction, aggravated assault, willful obstruction, failure to obey a stop sign, failure to maintain lane, and a seatbelt violation.
