Medina County, OH - An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper is being credited with saving a puppy who was abandoned in a crate near a busy highway.

The agency posted body cam video of the rescue on its social media Tuesday, writing that Trooper Kronander discovered the puppy near I-71 in Medina County during a morning rest area check on Aug. 23. Even with the heat, the puppy is seen summoning the energy to play with the trooper and a water bottle. Kronander then picks the puppy up and puts it in his cruiser.
