Jacksonville, FL - A woman's car was stolen, and her baby kidnapped on Sunday, according to Jacksonville police, but they weren't the only victims.

Body camera video from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office shows the fiery rescue of a woman who was hurt in the suspect's escape attempt.

JSO officers responded to a call on Sunday, Feb. 8, about an abduction at the intersection of Old Middleburg Road and 103rd Street in the Jacksonville Heights area.

The victim told police that a man opened the car door and forcefully dragged her out before driving off in her car — with her one-year-old daughter still inside.

Just a few streets over, JSO says officers found the stolen car. During a pursuit, the suspect crashed into another car.

Inside was a 14-year-old, who police say escaped shortly after the crash, and a woman still stuck.

Body camera video shows an officer, identified as Almin Residovic, rush to the car, pull the woman out and extinguish her burning hair.

At this point, nearly the entirety of the car is in flames.

"I got to her just in time," Resinovic said to another responding officer. The woman was later hospitalized for her injuries.

On scene, police arrested Richard Younger, 34, and recovered the uninjured one-year-old from her car seat.

Younger is charged with carjacking, false imprisonment of a child, and several other charges related to the crash. As of publication, he is due to be arraigned in court on March 3, 2026.
