Brazil's Sao Paulo opens vaccination to all adults, with music and performers
Brazil's Sao Paulo has opened vaccination to everyone over 18 this weekend (14, 15 August).
Footage shot on Saturday 14 August showed drive-thru vaccination centres with musicians and performers entertaining visitors.
Immunisations ran uninterrupted for 34 hours on Saturday and Sunday. The Virada da Vacina Sampa opened on Saturday at 7am will ends on Sunday at 5pm local time.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by Mayor Ricardo Nunes, and the municipal secretary of Health Edson Aparecido, during vaccination at the drive-thru of the Court of Accounts of the Municipality (TCM).
On Saturday, people aged 20 and 21 were vaccinated, until 7pm, after which it was open to anyone over 18.
