Mount Semeru eruption destroys bridge and covers villages in ash, trapping locals in a mosque
Footage has captured the aftermath of a devastating eruption from the Mount Semeru volcano in Indonesia on Saturday 4 December.
Mount Semeru, in Lumajang, East Java, is the highest mountain on the island of Java.
The giant ash cloud that was ejected from the volcano has plunged nearby villages into darkness.
A torrent of mud, ash and lava has also destroyed at least one bridge crossing a river in the area.
The video was supplied by Lumajang Rescue.
