Cars in Manayunk, Philadelphia, were left submerged on 2 September, on streets that became vast muddy rivers following Hurricane Ida.

The hurricane hit the US northeast with tornadoes and severe flooding on Wednesday, September 1.

Streets, cars, and buildings were still submerged across the region the next day.

The storm killed at least 46 people from Maryland to New York.
