Nepal's Biratnagar Airport resumed operations on Saturday after incessant rainfall forced it to close for three days.

Footage filmed on October 20 shows the runway and nearby areas of the airport, situated in Nepal's eastern Morang District, submerged in flood water. Consequently, airline operators cancelled all flights to and from the airport.

Local media reported that flood water from the overflowing Keshaliya river had entered the airport.

Buddha Air, the leading airline company in the country, had been forced to cancel all flights between the capital Kathmandu and Biratnagar. Yeti Air also cancelled flights.

Flights resumed on Saturday, the local news website Khabarhub reported.
