Exctinction Rebellion activists lock themselves to van in central London blocking traffic
Climate protesters from the Extinction Rebellion (XR) locked themselves to a van in central London today (August 23) blocking traffic.
Footage showed a police officer using a camcorder to video the faces of the protesters on St Martin's Lane.
The decentralised environmental group has begun a promised two weeks of climate activism, with protests and direct action in the UK capital.
As well as tying themselves to vehicles, protesters have blocked roads with marches and drum performances.
Police have made a number of arrests.
